Tórshavn Camping - FAROE ISLANDS

This card shows the camping site where Marnie and her sister stayed when they went to Faroe Islands. According to her message, the site is beautiful but very windy at night; still, a good base camp to visit the city or take a hike in the opposite direction, through the green fields and surrounded by sheeps. Thank you very much Marnie four the wonderful cards and I really enjoy all the things you told me on the messages. This postcard took 5 days to arrive!

Tórshavn Camping (Yviri við Strond) - FAROE ISLANDS
Tórshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. The city was founded in the 10th century and named after Thor, the god of thunder and lightning in Norse mythology. Currently the city has a population of around 20.000, almost half of all the inhabitants of the archipelago.

Tórshavn Camping, Yviri við Strond stands about 1km from the harbor. Pretty low-frills campsite catering to both tenters and trailers. There's a spartan kitchen, (free) hot showers plus coin-operated laundry facilities.

  1. Looks like a very simple camping place, but with beautiful views!
