Bakongo woman - ANGOLA

The second postcard that Alice sent shows a Bakongo woman with her child on a beautiful Black and White extraordinary photo - I love the shy smile on her face. The Bakongo people live in the northern part of Angola (mainly in the coast) and of course in Congo - as with most of the African ethnic groups, some Europeans decided centuries ago that a straight line would divide them in several nationalities. Thank you very much Alice, you can't imagine how happy I was when I got your envelope and just now when I created the Angola label. This postcard took 273 days to arrive!

Bakongo Woman with child - ANGOLA

The Bakongo people dwell along the Atlantic coast of Africa from Pointe-Noire, Congo (Brazzaville) to Luanda, Angola. In the east, their territory is limited by the Kwango River and in the northeast by Malebo (Stanley) Pool, in the Congo River. The Bakongo thus live in Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), and Angola.
