Vilnius - LITHUANIA - UNESCO #541

Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, its largest city and where Anton lives - in this card we can see the Saint Johnes Church and the Belfry, a place he knows hell because near this church stands Vilnius University (one of the oldest in Europe) where he studied. Thanks Anton, this is my second card from Vilnius (the other is a nightview) and I really like it. This postcard took 6 days to arrive!

UNESCO #541 - Saint Jones, Vilnius - LITHUANIA

Political centre of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from the 13th to the end of the 18th century, Vilnius has had a profound influence on the cultural and architectural development of much of eastern Europe. Despite invasions and partial destruction, it has preserved an impressive complex of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and classical buildings as well as its medieval layout and natural setting.
