My US State Mapcard collection is starting to grow - the 6th card arrived today, sent from the Motor City Detroit (getting on its feet now after almost sinking in bankruptcy, mostly thanks to the production of the amazing Ford Mustang - my American Muscle dream car because of the 3 Dukes TV series I loved when I was a child). Michigan is a beautiful northern state formed by two peninsulas. Thank you very much Emily. This postcard took 6 days to arrive!
Michigan is a state in the Great Lakes region of the Midwestern United States. The name Michigan is the French form of the Ojibwa word 'mishigamaa', meaning "large water" or "large lake". Michigan is the only state to consist of two peninsulas and is the 9th most populous of the 50 United States, with the 11th most extensive total area. Its capital is Lansing, and the largest city is Detroit.
