Rubber Duck in Kaohsiung - TAIWAN
Only in recent years the little yellow rubber duck for children to play in the bath became popular here in Portugal so I don't have childhood memories of it, but I clearly remember the day this giant sculpture started its tour in Amsterdam because I watched it on TV back in 2007... it's been on a world tour since then and between September and October he was on display on the Kaohsiung harbor in Taiwan, where the picture on this card was made. Thank you very much Kagetsu. This postcard took 11 days to arrive!
Rubber Duck is any of several giant floating sculptures designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. These were built in various sizes, including one created in 2007 that is the largest rubber duck in the world, measuring 26×20×32 metres and weighing over 600 kg. A tour named "Spreading joy around the world" established in 2007, aimed to recall everyone's childhood memories by exhibiting the duck in 14 cities, starting in his author's hometown Amsterdam, Netherlands.
