Honolulu - HI - USA

After a short getaway of a a few days waking and hiking in Gredo, Spain, I return home and found in my mailbox (along with the usual bills and publicity) 8 postcards, 5 of them officials - in moments like this I'm really glad I've found the POSTCROSSING website! The first one came from the states, signed by Dennis, a "hardcore" postcrosser with 7000 cards in his collection in just 4 years; he sent me this nice aerial view of Diamond Head, Waikiki and Honolulu in Hawaii. Thank you very much Dennis. This postcard took 8 days to arrive!

Honolulu is the state capital and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Hawaii. Situated on the island of Oahu, it is known worldwide as a major tourist destination; Honolulu is the main gateway to Hawaii and host to a diverse variety of east-west and Pacific culture, cuisine, and traditions. In the Hawaiian language, Honolulu means "sheltered bay" or "place of shelter". The city has been the capital of the Hawaiian islands since 1845 and gained historical recognition following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor near the city on December 7, 1941.
