Gredos Mountains - SPAIN
Today arrived both the cards I sent to myself on the short getaway I've made last weekend with my wife to the beautiful Gredos Mountain Range in Spain, not far from Portugal. It's a place we really love and often go to some days of piece and quiet in the natural park, enjoying our time walking and hiking in the mountains. This year, because of the strong winter it was amazingly beautiful with all the snow (even more than on the picture). This postcard took 4 days to arrive!
The Sierra de Gredos is a mountain range in central Spain that is located in the provinces of Ávila, Salamanca, Cáceres, Madrid, and Toledo. It is part of the much larger Central System of mountain ranges. Its highest point is Pico Almanzor, at 2592 m and it has been declared a natural park by the Autonomous Community of Castile and León. The Sierra de Gredos is one of the most extensive mountain ranges of the Central System, and it comprise 5 river valleys: the Alto Tormes, the Alto Alberche, the Tiétar Oriental, the Tiétar Occidental y la Vera, and the Valle del Ambroz. The central part of the range encomprises the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park.
