Bamberg - GERMANY - UNESCO #624

Last month I've made a swap for a postcard of the German town of Bamberg, today I received another on, this time a official with a aerial view of this ancient and beautiful town. Thank you very much Karsten for choosing a UNESCO WHS postcard, it's different from the one I have, so my collection gets richer - hope you like the city of Porto here in Portugal when you finally visit it late this month, I'm sure you'll love it (don't forget to eat a "Francesinha"!). This postcard took 6 days to arrive!
UNESCO #624 - Town of Bamberg - GERMANY
From the 10th century onwards, this town became an important link with the Slav peoples, especially those of Poland and Pomerania. During its period of greatest prosperity, from the 12th century onwards, the architecture of Bamberg strongly influenced northern Germany and Hungary. In the late 18th century it was the centre of the Enlightenment in southern Germany, with eminent philosophers and writers such as Hegel and Hoffmann living there.
