Classical Gardens of Suzhou - CHINA - UNESCO #813

This awesome card shows one of the treasures of China that UNESCO classified as World Heritage Site. It took almost 800 years to complete the nine gardens in the city of Suzhou and only a fraction of a second to picture it in this beautiful photography that helps me forget the heavy rain outside. Thank you very much Zihu, I really like this postcard (I love water reflections photos) and now my collection grows to 309 WHS, only 672 to finish. This postcard took 16 days to arrive!

UNESCO #813 - Classical Gardens of Suzhou - CHINA

Classical Chinese garden design, which seeks to recreate natural landscapes in miniature, is nowhere better illustrated than in the nine gardens in the historic city of Suzhou. They are generally acknowledged to be masterpieces of the genre. Dating from the 11th-19th century, the gardens reflect the profound metaphysical importance of natural beauty in Chinese culture in their meticulous design.
