Franciscan Monastery, Denekamp - NETHERLANDS
This card was sent by a postcrosser from Belgium that went on a trip to the Netherlands and it shows na old Franciscan monastery in Denekanp - I couldn't find much information about the village (at least in english), probably because it's such a small place (less than 8000 inhabitants), but the monastery seems quite impressive. Thank you very much Henk, I hope you had a nice time there and a great Christmas Holidays. This postcard took 16 days to arrive!
Denekamp is a town in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the region of Twente and the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 9 km northeast of Oldenzaal. The town was first noted as early as the 10th century when it was referred to as Daginghem. The location became a municipality in 1818 incorporating the settlements of Noord Deurningen, Lattrop, Breklenkamp, Tilligte, Nutter and Agelo.
