Fatahillah Museum - INDONESIA

My second official card from Indonesia shows the Fatahillah Museum (History Museum) in Jakarta, the capital and largest city in Indonesia. The building architecture is clearly European (it was the Dutch Colonial Government headquarter) and inside pieces oh Indonesian history are displayed (I wonder how they show the infamous East Timor occupation). Thank you very much Mei for this card and the amazing set of stamps you've picked. This postcard took 23 days to arrive!

Fatahillah Museum (Jakarta History Museum) - INDONESIA

The Jakarta History Museum, also known as Fatahillah Museum, is located in the Old Town (Kota) of Jakarta, Indonesia. The building was built in 1710 as the Stadhuis (city hall) of Batavia. Jakarta History Museum, opened in 1974, displays objects from the prehistory period of the city region, the founding of Jayakarta in 1527, and through the Dutch colonization period from the 16th century until Indonesia’s Independence in 1948.
