Igor from Uzbekistan sent me three more cards from that beautiful country far far away that I would love to visit one day. This one is from Tashkent ( literally "Stone City") the capital city and it shows the Monument of Mustakillik on the largest square of the city, celebrating the Independence of Republic of Uzbekistan in 1991. Thank you very much Igor. This postcard took 17 days to arrive!

Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan and of the Tashkent Province. It was settled by ancient peoples as an oasis on the Chirchik River, near the foothills of the West Tian Shan Mountains. The officially registered population of the city in 2012 was about 2.309,300 million.
