Deshaies - GUADELOUPE

After a tour on this famous area of the Island of Basse Terre, Anabela and Eric took a brief stop on the beach, lay down writing this two postcards while sipping the famous local beverage under the Caribbean sun. Ok, now I must admit I'm a little bit (just a tiny one) envious! Thank you so much for this amazing cards! This postcards took 8 days to arrive!

Deshaies, and its littoral zone of the Large Cape, preserve the vestiges of the primitive vegetation of Guadeloupe at the time of Christopher Columbus' arrival on November 4, 1493. The deepest bay of all the Caribbean coast and best naturally protected, it was used as shelter to the adventurers of pirates and other corsairs, and there is said to be treasure on the Island. Deshaies is also known due to the fact that the entire village is the setting of the popular TV series Death in Paradise (series I and II).
