Telč - CZECH REPUBLIC - UNESCO #621

Today I received the biggest swap I made since I've joined POSTCROSSING - 9 UNESCO cards from Czech Republic completing that country - thank you very much Ondřej! They're all a special edition from the Czech Ministery of Culture representing the UNESCO sites in that country (I already had one from Český Krumlov) and they're simply beautiful. The first one shows the historic center of the city of Telč. This postcard took 5 days to arrive!

UNESCO #621 - Historic Center of Telč - CZECH REPUBLIC

The houses in Telč, which stands on a hilltop, were originally built of wood. After a fire in the late 14th century, the town was rebuilt in stone, surrounded by walls and further strengthened by a network of artificial ponds. The town's Gothic castle was reconstructed in High Gothic style in the late 15th century.
