Litomyšl Castle - CZECH REPUBLIC - UNESCO #901

One more card from Czech Republic with one more beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Renaissance Castle in the city of Litomyšl (according to Ondřej all the city is amazing with lots of monuments and a major Opera festival every year, because it was here that Bedřich Smetana, the famous composer, was born). Well, I must confess my ignorance, it's the first time I read Bedřich Smetana name, but I'm listening the opera "The Brandenburgers in Bohemia" at this exact moment and I'm liking it a lot. Thanks again Ondřej for this card and for introducing me to this composer.   This postcard took 5 days to arrive!
UNESCO #901 - Litomyšl Castle - CZECH REPUBLIC
Litomyšl Castle was originally a Renaissance arcade-castle of the type first developed in Italy and then adopted and greatly developed in central Europe in the 16th century. Its design and decoration are particularly fine, including the later High-Baroque features added in the 18th century. It preserves intact the range of ancillary buildings associated with an aristocratic residence of this type.
