Lijiang - CHINA - UNESCO #811

This amazing postcard shows the beautiful Wufeng Lou (Five Phoenix Hall) that took 29 year to be built and it's one of the landmarks of the old town of Lijiang in Xishuangbanna (the land without winter... apparently between November and April the temperatures are not to cold neither to warm and it's the best time to visit it because in the summer is to hot and wet). Thank you very much Kim, thanks to you my UNESCO WHS collection rises to 207 sites, only 774 to go. This postcard took 32 days to arrive!
UNESCO #811 - Wufeng Lou, Old Town of Lijiang - CHINA
The Old Town of Lijiang, which is perfectly adapted to the uneven topography of this key commercial and strategic site, has retained a historic townscape of high quality and authenticity. Its architecture is noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have come together over many centuries. Lijiang also possesses an ancient water-supply system of great complexity and ingenuity that still functions effectively today.
