Gardens and Castle at Kroměříž - CZECH REPUBLIC - UNESCO #860

Also located in the Moravian part of Czech Republic, the complex of Kroměříž holds the best preserved baroque garden in Europe and the castle was the principal residence of archbishops of Olomouc (hey, the place of the Holy Column... I'm starting to know something about Czech Republic - it's amazing the things you learn with the help of POSTCROSSING).  This postcard took 5 days to arrive!

UNESCO #860 - Gardens and Castle at Kroměříž - CZECH REPUBLIC

Kroměříž stands on the site of an earlier ford across the River Morava, at the foot of the Chriby mountain range which dominates the central part of Moravia. The gardens and castle of Kroměříž are an exceptionally complete and well-preserved example of a European Baroque princely residence and its gardens.
