"Aurora" Cruiser - CCCP

The second postcard I've got from Katya shows a painting celebrating the historical naval cruiser called "Aurora" tht fought both the World Wars and had a important part (and very symbolical one as well) on the 1917 soviet revolution. Thank you very much Katya for another great piece of XX century history. This postcard took 30 days to arrive!

Soviet Cruiser "Aurora" - CCCP

Aurora is a 1900 Russian protected cruiser, currently preserved as a museum ship in St. Petersburg. She battled the Japanese Navy in the Russo-Japanese War. One of the first incidents of the October Revolution in Russia took place on the cruiser Aurora on 25 October 1917, when Aurora refused to carry out an order to put to sea.
