Karlstad - SWEDEN

Today I've got my first official card from Sweden. It came from the peculiar city of Karlstad, built over the Klarälven river and, like some cities in Netherlands with lots of water channels replacing roads. Thank you very much Weronica, you live in a very beautiful place (but I bet it's very cold in the winter). This postcard took 4 days to arrive!

Karlstad water channels - SWEDEN

Karlstad is the capital city of Värmland County in Sweden. The city with 62.000 inhabitants is built on the river delta where Sweden's longest river, Klarälven, runs into Sweden's largest lake, Vänern. It has the second largest lake port in the country after Västerås. Karlstad is often associated with sunshine and the symbol for Karlstad is a smiling sun and it's reputed to be one of the sunniest towns in Sweden.
