Fatehpur Sikri - INDIA - UNESCO #255

Sai is a UNESCO postcards collector from India and we arranged a triple swap. The cards he sent arrived today. This one shows the Fatehpur Sikri in Agra, a place he visited and found amazing (it doesn't seem hard to believe). Thank you very much Sai, for the card and the amazing stamps you've chosen. This postcard took 8 days to arrive!

Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. The complex of monuments and temples, all in a uniform architectural style, includes one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid.
