Downtown Montevideo - URUGUAY

Today I've got 6 cards, another great day! The first one came all the way from Uruguay sent by my nice friend Agustina. It shows a map of downtown Montevideo (the capital of Uruguay) with several views including the Parliament (Palacio Legislativo) that is on the UNESCO tentative list. Thank you very much Agus, I wasn't expecting this nice surprise... keep your eyes on your mailbox, maybe you'll get something in return soon! This postcard took 18 days to arrive!

Downtown Montevideo - URUGUAY
The Uruguay Parliament (Palacio Legislativo) is a reticle-shaped ground plan, 4 stories : basement, ground floor, 1st and 2nd stories. Surrounded by gardens, the Capitol, see of the Legislative Power, enjoys a privileged location that allows the best views of the city and of its historical Bay. The building was inaugurated on August 25th, 1925 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and was declared a National Historic Monument in 1975.
