Tatra 15/30 - CZECH REPUBLIC

The second Maxi-Card shows a bizarre vehicle (for today standarts). This Tatra moved on rails and was made in Czechoslovakia during the late 30s and 40s - probably in that time all roads would be destroyed because WWII. Thank you very much Radana - this two postcards are amazing. This postcard took 7 days to arrive!

Tatra 15/30 drezína - CZECH REPUBLIC (Maxi-Card)

The Tatra 15/30 is a unique four-seat engine-driven draisine (railcar mounted on a four-wheel undercarrige). The draisin has a front-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive. It has mechanical breaks, manual for the rear wheels and a pedal for the front wheels. It is suspended by leaf springs, used in railcars to provide sufficient comfort. The special feature of the Tatra 15/30 its swivelling base which allows the car to turn by 180° without the need of a turntable or passing siding. The draisine could therefore ride on a single truck between two railway stations. The maximum speed is 80 km/h.
