Saaremaa - ESTONIA
The third official card of the day came from Estonia (my first from there!), specifically from the island of Saaremaa where this postcrosser lives. I didn't knew Estonia has more than 1500 islands, quite impressive! The postcard shows the Maasi Stronghold, some Juniper Berries and the ferry boat to mainland. Thank you Hellen. This postcard took 8 days to arrive!
Saaremaa is the largest island in Estonia with an intact and well-restored medieval castle in its only city, Kuressaare. It has retained its uniqueness due to its location and isolation. In the villages there are still stone fences and houses with thatched roofs. Dolomite, windmills and the famous local home-brewed beer are considered the symbols of Saaremaa.
