Costa Nova, Ilhavo - PORTUGAL
Near Aveiro you may visit and enjoy the beautiful beach of Costa Nova (that belongs to Ilhavo municipality) - it's one of my favorite spots, because you have a wonderful view of both the sea and the Ria de Aveiro (the large estuary of the Vouga river). It's a perfect place to relax and meditate. Thanks mom for this wonderful postcard! This postcard took 6 days to arrive!
The beach da Costa Nova do Prado, also known only by Costa Nova, is located in western coast of Portugal, in the line of coast of Aveiro. The ex-libris of this beach are the "palheiros" (haystacks) - wood houses painted with vertical stripes interspersed with bright and cheerful colors. This houses were originally fisherman's shacks, painted to stand out against the sand. Over the years, they've gradually become vacation homes and the stripes, have become a colorful, beloved symbol of the town.
