Venice - ITALY - UNESCO #394

It's here - after more than one and a half month this card managed to find it's way between Venice and my mailbox. It was sent by my mother (one of the two she mailed there) before the departure of her cruise to Greece. Venice is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and even with the permanent flood of tourists it 's a wonderful place and a city everybody should visit at least one time or two... I really want to go there again - Grazie Mama, now I have 48 UNESCO sites (four dozens, yeah!), only 914 to finish! This postcard took 48 days to arrive!

UNESCO #394 - Venice (Rio de la Toletta) - ITALY

Founded in the 5th century and spread over 118 small islands, Venice became a major maritime power in the 10th century. The whole city is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece in which even the smallest building contains works by some of the world's greatest artists such as Giorgione, Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese and others.
