Today I received my first Map-Card! I know I'm just starting the UNESCO collection, but why don't start another immediately? So, from now on, I'll be thankful to everyone who send me a map card (country, region, US state, etc...) - soon I'll make a list to easily keep track of the collection (Gosh, I'm such a nerd!) - the first entry on my list is this card from the Buckeye State, OHIO, sent by Phay... thank you! This postcard took 5 days to arrive!
OHIO Map and Symbols - USA
Ohio is a state in the Midwestern United States, the 34th largest (by area), the 7th most populous and the 10th most densely populated of the 50 United States. The state's capital and largest city is Columbus. The name "Ohio" originated from Iroquois word "ohi-yo’", meaning "great river" or "large creek". The state, originally partitioned from the Northwest Territory, was admitted to the Union as the 17th state on March 1, 1803. Ohio is historically known as the "Buckeye State" (relating to the Ohio buckeye tree) and Ohioans are also known as "Buckeyes".
