Tubbataha Reefs - PHILIPPINES - UNESCO #653

Today I found on my mailbox two amazing pictures of a real paradise -  Palawan in the Philippines! Thanks to Jan, I've got two more sites in my collection and a new dream destination to my hollidays - in this case, to see the Tubbataha Reefs I must do a diving course first! Ok, with this one, 27 sites, 935 to go! This postcard took 21 days to arrive!

UNESCO #653 - Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park - PHILIPPINES

The Tubbataha Reef Marine Park covers 130,028 ha, including the North and South Reefs. It is a unique example of an atoll reef with a very high density of marine species; the North Islet serving as a nesting site for birds and marine turtles. The site is an excellent example of a pristine coral reef with a spectacular 100-m perpendicular wall, extensive lagoons and two coral islands.
